The Big Move

I am not going to lie, starting a blog can be very scary and a lot of people don't realize the amount of work that goes into them, but here I am stepping out of my comfort zone to share with you my life story.  Not only is it scary to start a blog, but it is also extremely scary picking up your life, moving to a new state, and starting a whole new life and THAT is exactly what I did. Change can be scary but what makes it worth it is all the new experiences that you can encounter living in a completely new place with new people. That reason alone is why I am creating this blog.

Before I continue, let me introduce myself. My name is Tricia Wellov and I am originally from a small town outside of Chicago. When I turned 18 I wanted to get out of Illinois so badly that I moved 700 miles away to Nashville, TN where I went to school at Belmont University. I made so many wonderful friends and so many memories, including meeting my now boyfriend Mitchell and his dog Buster. Fast forward 6 years and I made the decision to move me and my dog Lyla to sunny Tampa, FL to be with Mitchell and Buster this past Labor Day weekend.

Moving can be stressful in general, but moving to a completely new state -- 710 miles to be exact -- is a whole new feeling that can't be described without me going on for days. Mitchell was such a saving grace for me with this process which kept reminding me that I was making the right decision. Not only did I have the stress of moving but I also had the stress of meeting most of Mitchell's family the Thursday before the move. I am extremely introverted and can be incredibly soft spoken when meeting new people, so I very nervous. By the end of the night, I felt like i was already a part of the family, which was the best feeling going into the next few days.

The day before we made the long car ride we packed up ALL my stuff into the sprinter van we had. Mitchell kept saying, "you don't have that much stuff we should be good with space" and I just kept saying "okay" but in the back of my mind I was worried it wasn't all going to fit. We filled that truck to the point where you couldn't put a single extra thing in there, but we got it all in there surprisingly.  We went to bed fairly early and got up at 2:30 in the morning and was on the road by 4am. The drive went very smoothly and by the time we pulled into the driveway of our new house my excitement shot through the roof.

From there it was unpacking and organizing which can be overwhelming and I was most definitely feeling that, but we also made some time outside of all the moving which was just what I needed. Sunday me, Mitchell and his parents went to the oldest Catholic Church on the West Coast of Florida called Sacred Heart which was really neat. We also went this place called Crabby Bills for dinner in St. Petersburg where Mitchell taught me how to crack crab legs. I am not a Pro like he is but give me a few months and I will be. Bright and early Monday morning Mitchell's parents made the 10 hour car ride back to Nashville leaving me and Mitchell on our own.

This whole trip/adventure has really opened my eyes about life and how even though there may be people out there who don't necessarily agree with what you are doing, live the life that you want to live. This is your time to do the things that you never thought you could do or even imagined would happen. That is the beauty of life, that no matter how old you are you are continuously progressing through and learning. My hope for this blog is that not only do I show you all the amazing adventures I am going to encounter here in Florida, but how i am constantly finding myself and growing and progressing each and every day. I am so excited for this new journey and I can't wait to take you all on this ride with me.
