Now you all might be confused as to why I moved all the way to Tampa from Nashville to move in with my boyfriend MItchell. Well let me tell you all why! I always say to people that I love telling the story of how me and him met because it is the type of story that I can't wait to tell my grand kids one day. Oh yea, its that cute!
Lets go back to May of 2017 when I had moved to my new apartment at Brandywine in Nashville, TN. Within the first week of living there, Lyla and I met this red headed cutie and his even cuter dog Buster at the dog park within the complex. The two of us just sat in the dog park for hours talking and from there I was crushing pretty hard. I remember texting my best friend once I got home from the dog park that day telling her about him. I couldn’t wait to go back to the dog park and see him again!
That next day at work I was telling everyone about the cute guy that I met at the dog park. I had mentioned that he worked for the post office and that he delivered around where my office was, so we were all looking out to see if maybe he would deliver to us one day. A couple days go by, and guess who came to deliver the mail at Kenny & Company? None other than Mitchell. I was the receptionist at the time so he would bring the mail to me, which in turn resulted in us having a 20 minute conversation.
As time went by, my feelings for him kept growing and growing but nothing was really happening. He kept making comments about how he wanted to move farther south -- Florida to be exact -- and that he was currently looking at openings within the post office, but I shook it off thinking it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. After months of wondering if he was ever going to make a move, I finally decided to be a big girl and asked him to go to a Nashville Sounds vs. Iowa Cubs baseball game with me, which he said yes to. I was so excited and couldn't wait to spend some time with him outside of work and the dog park and just have some fun.
A week before our first technical date, I got some of the worst news. He was moving to Tampa in a month. The excitement that he had was too much for me to show my disappointment, so I sucked it up and was as supportive as I could be. Don't worry everyone we still went to the baseball game and we still had a blast! It just made him leaving 10x harder than it was before that night.
That month went by so fast and before I knew it he was gone and there I was in Nashville wishing he was still there. We still talked here and there and I had planned multiple times for me to go down and visit, but between both of our busy schedules it just never happened. Fast forward a few months and and I had planned a trip to go down to Orlando for my 24th birthday with my best friend, her fiance and her parents in April of this year. I used that trip to go see him in Tampa before heading to Orlando and boy am I glad that I decided to do that. My birthday this year was probably the best yet only because my birthday wish actually came true. I ended that trip with the guy that I had been crushing on for almost a year FINALLY!
From that weekend it was A LOT of long distance phone calls and few short trips to Tampa before I decided to make the big move from Nashville to Tampa to close the distance gap. It blows my mind what a year can do and I am so thankful that I never gave up on what me and Mitchell had because here we are today. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would be living in Tampa with MItchell and our two dogs I probably would have called you crazy. I am the happiest that I have been in awhile, and I am so glad that I met that cute guy and his dog in the dog park a year and a half ago!
